Wild Heart somatic eco-therapy intensives foster a deep connection with nature, promote mindfulness and offer opportunities for self reflection, emotional expression and healing. These immersive experiences combine somatic psychotherapy, EMDR, mindfulness-based practices and nature-based healing, inviting you to connect with both the rhythms of the Earth and your true Wild Heart Self.
Research has shown that therapy intensives, especially when combined with nature, are exponentially more effective in healing and processing trauma, allowing for relaxation, reducing stress and increasing clarity and rejuvenation.
Our 1:1 intensives guide you in using your body and spirit, alongside the physical landscape, as therapeutic tools to work through the challenges and goals you have set out for your session.
Somatic eco-therapy intensives are for women and non-men* ages 18+ who seek more focused, in-depth work on a particular issue that has been holding them back, PTSD or a specific trauma.
*We will work together determine the intensive time frame that will best suit your therapeutic goals. Overnight accommodations available.
Wild Heart EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Intensives are 1:1 psychotrauma therapy sessions taking place in a one-to-three day intensive format with the goal of making more significant therapeutic progress in a shorter period of time. EMDR intensives combine parts work, somatic psychotherapy, mindfulness-based practices and nature-based healing to create an entirely immersive therapy experience. These sessions can take place at The Preserve, in our Austin office or virtually depending on your needs, abilities and preferences.
EMDR is most helpful for those who have experienced a recent or past traumatic experience that has kept them stuck, anxious and unable to progress beyond the event. In addition to complex trauma, EMDR can also help individuals experiencing excessive stress, burnout, anxiety and PTSD. For more information on EMDR, the process of an intensive and the conditions it can benefit most, visit our FAQ’s.
EMDR intensives are best for those who are seeking a more concentrated and accelerated therapeutic approach as they allow individuals to make progress more quickly than with traditional weekly sessions. The concentrated format may help address issues more comprehensively in a shorter period of time and allow individuals to delve deeper into their traumas and memories, leading to more thorough processing and resolution of distressing experiences.
Like our somatic eco-therapy intensives, EMDR intensives are for women and non-men ages 18+.

GET IN TOUCHOn the second Sunday of each month, we gather together as a community on the land of Wild Heart Preserve to slow down and tune into our hearts and the heart of nature. We use this time to marvel at the beauty around us and honor the ancient webs of interconnectedness. These gatherings are designed to welcome all individuals regardless of their past experiences (or lack thereof) with nature therapy and healing. No prior experience or relationship with Wild Heart is required to attend.
What to Expect
Wild Heart Sanctuary is an open and inviting space of reflection, support and relationship for those in our geographical community. These gatherings are intended for those seeking a spiritual journey, regardless of their specific religious background, as well as those who value or are seeking new community and shared experiences. We intentionally create an environment in which all religious and cultural backgrounds feel safe, accepted and included in our practices. Together, we will explore spirituality beyond traditional religious frameworks, encounter nature and interrogate our responsibility to it and increase our awareness of self, other and the land by creating time for reflection, mindfulness and ceremony. All ages are welcome.
How it Works
Each month’s gathering is unique and group led. We begin the day together, sharing a time of poetry, stories, song, nature practices and ceremony fitting to the month's theme. At each gathering, we also make time for solo wandering on the land, giving each participant a time to venture out into their own sacred quiet time. We conclude our time together by reuniting for group reflection, blessing and closing ceremony.
